Baucau, September, 26th 2022,  Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry launched the competition for innovative businesses for the third time at the Baucau Convention Center. This competition program aims to promote diversification in various sectors of the economy in the districts. This program also covers four other municipalities such as Lautém, Viqueque and Manatuto.

The Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Industry, Mr. Domingos Lopes Antunes, through his speech, highlights the important role of new generations to develop the diversified productive sector to create a sustainable economy. “This is a dream of the liberation of our people”, refute the minister.

This competition offers to the youngest the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and innovation in key areas such as agriculture, fisheries, trade, tourism, technology and innovations in food production. This competition comes to encourage young entrepreneurs, micro companies, cooperatives and youth groups to show innovative ideas.

Participate in this launch, the President of the Baucau Municipality Authority, Mr. Olivio Freitas, Deputy representing UNDP, Ms. Lazima Onta Batta, the Executive Director of SERVE,I.P., the Director General of IADE, the Inspector of AIFAESA, representatives of the Prime Minister’s office, the Police Commander and FFDTL, local authorities and suco chiefs and other guests.
